Job description

We currently have an exceptional opportunity for an Associate Director Business Development, for our company's Pharma Business.
 
The Associate Director Business Development will support the growth of the Company's Pharma Business and will primarily provide strong input on account segmentation and prioritizing, develop and execute the account plan for the assigned territory, and achieve or exceed corresponding annual financial targets.
You will report to the Senior VP Commercial & Business Development, located in the United States.
 
Role & Responsibilities
  • Working closely across Marketing, R&D and Pharma Services functions, serves as the primary field-based, scientific interlocutor to Pharma clients in the US.
  • Responsible for the growth of the company's Pharma Business Unit in the US; provides strong input on account segmentation and prioritizing, develops and executes the account plan for the assigned territory, and achieves or exceeds corresponding annual financial targets  (bookings, revenues...).
  • Primarily concentrates on the acquisition of new customers, providing scientific-driven value add through the sale cycle process; preparing scientific presentations tailored to target pharma drugs and marker programs, providing prescriptive, consultative scientific support and coordinating technical content input for inclusion in business proposals.
  • In concertation with internal functions, develops scientific, client-specific account roadmap plans driving to the adoption of HalioDx Pharma portfolios of services; establishes strong working relationship with pharma sponsors and leverages HalioDx resources to develop and present attractive repeat business programs.
  • In partnership with the Marketing function, coordinates content-rich customer advocacy initiatives and campaigns including contribution to webinars, recruitment of speakers for webinars and conferences, preparation of scientific posters, publications, and white papers.
  • Keeps current on new technology developments as well as on major scientific advances in the field of immuno-oncology.
  • Identifies and proposes internally for evaluation, opportunities for HalioDx to take part in relevant, publicly funded research programs (NCI, NIH, NIAD...) in the US. 
  • Provides real-time voice of customer feedback on execution of customer contracts, competition, and emergence of new trends.
  • Establishes and maintains regular communications with HalioDx scientific functions (R&D, Pharma Services...) and develops strong bi-directional working partnership to ensure real-time communication, solve problems in a timely fashion and stay current on company's scientific improvements and main initiatives.
  • Contributes as instructed by line management to corporate initiatives and special projects (budget, annual operating plans, strategic roadmap...).

Profile

Approximately 5-10 years' experience working in a scientific support function in close partnership with Marketing, R&D and Pharma Services functions, serving the Biopharma industry.

Postgraduate (PhD) degree in a relevant biology field (Immunology, Microbiology...).

Current knowledge of immuno-oncology markers (molecular and tissue-based) with demonstrated ability to discuss scientific rationale to prospects and clients.

Deep understanding of the digital pathology space including conventional and special staining, tissue imaging and image analysis approaches.

Exceptional communication skills, able to clearly explain complex offerings to diverse audiences in a wide range of contexts (conferences, client presentations, multi-disciplinary teams...); good listener/partner seeking consensus while preserving company's best interests.

Ability to function at full potential in across a matrixed environment and to work effectively with customers.

Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally occasionally.
